Are you afraid of spiders? Heights? Speaking in public? Some people are afraid of the water, but it is still good for them to learn how to swim. Children might be afraid to go to school, but they have to face this fear as well. We teach them that facing fear is part of life. But most of us still have fears that we don’t want to face; fears so big we think we can never conquer them. What can we do about fears this big? In a world full of fear, how can we learn to live fearlessly?

“The Lord is with me, I will not be afraid; what can anyone do to me?” ~ Psalm 118:6-7

3月7日的空英課程主題是 Security(安全感)。

We have so many things to make us feel secure, and we are always inventing more. We have locks, alarms, security cameras, emergency phone numbers, police, firemen, security guards at banks and hospitals, passwords on our computers, streetlights, and cell phones, just to name a few. But even with all these reasons to feel safe, many of us don’t. Where can we find true security?

“But whoever listens to me will have security. He will be safe, with no reason to be afraid.” ~ Proverbs 1:33

2月21日的空英課程主題是 God’s promises(上帝的應許)。

Has anyone ever broken a promise to you? Have you ever broken a promise you made to someone?

Isaiah was a person who knew a lot about promises. He lived about 2700 years ago, and he was a prophet. During Isaiahʼs time, the people of God were under attack. People from other countries were trying to kill them and take their land. God promised his people, through Isaiah, that he would send a Savior. The people waited, and waited, and after awhile became angry with God. They thought he had broken his promise to them. Have you ever felt this way? Godʼs timing and Godʼs plan can be different from what we want. But God is faithful. He keeps his promises, even when people sometimes doubt him.

“Remember your promise to me, your servant; it has given me hope. Even in my suffering I was comforted because your promise gave me life.”~ Psalms 119:49-50

2月7日的空英課程主題是 Generosity(樂善好施)。

Most people enjoy being generous. To give someone a small amount of money, time, or help makes us feel good. But most of us reach a point where we say, “Okay, I’ve given enough. I have to take care of myself now.” However, there are some people whose generosity is amazing. It seems to have no limits. What do you think about people like this? Many of us admire these people, but not many of us would want to have their lifestyle of sacrifice. What is the secret of being whole-heartedly generous all the time?

“He who gives to the poor will lack nothing.”~ Proverbs 28:27

What gives you joy? Do you often feel joyful?
Many people think joy is a reaction or response to something. They think we feel joyful when something good happens. But with Christ in your life, it is possible to have joy no matter what is happening. Joy can be an ongoing emotion, something we have in good times and bad. The Bible tells us to, “rejoice in the Lord always.” (Philippians 4:4) This doesnʼt mean we should not feel sad when painful things happen. But even when we feel pain, we can still rejoice in Godʼs great love for us, knowing that God is working in us, and making us stronger, better people.

“You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.”~ Psalm 16:11

1月3日的空英課程主題是 Gratitude(感恩的心)。

What are you grateful for? About how many times each day do you say “thank you” to someone? Remembering to say “thank you,” even for a very small favor, is important. It can make someoneʼs day. It can be a step towards fixing a broken relationship. Thinking about what is good in every situation can create a spirit of true gratitude in our hearts. And having a grateful heart can change the way we look at our lives. It can turn a little into enough, a meal into a feast, a stranger into a friend.

I will always thank the Lord; I will never stop praising him. ~ Psalm 34:1

12月6日的空英課程主題是 Contentment(知足常樂)。

Are you content with your life? Why or why not?
Studies show that people in poorer countries tend to be more content than people in richer countries.
If this is true, then money is obviously not the secret to contentment.
No matter how much we have, there always seems to be something we want and canʼt get.
Contentment does not mean having everything we want, or even everything we need.
Contentment is being happy with what you have and who you are.

Be joyful always, pray at all times, be thankful in all circumstances. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Do you ever feel like the world has too many people, and there is no special job, or purpose designed just for you?

A famous writer (William Ellery Channing) once said, “Each of us is meant to be what no other can be, and do what no other can do.” Do you agree? How can we be sure of our purpose in life?

God has a different plan for everyone, but he wants us all to have the same purpose. That purpose is very simple; he wants us to love him and let him “work for good” in our lives.

The Lord has made everything for his own purpose.
